What should I expect in my initial consultation?

Prior to your first appointment, we’ll schedule a phone call, which typically lasts about 15-20 minutes. The initial consultation is free of charge. During this call, I’ll share more information with you about my background and therapeutic approach. This will also be an opportunity for us to discuss administrative details (i.e., session costs, insurance, etc.). I’ll ask you questions about yourself to better understand your mental health needs. And of course, you’ll have plenty of time to ask any questions you may have. If we both agree working together feels like a good fit, we’ll go ahead and schedule an intake appointment.

What should I expect during the intake session?

There will be intake and consent forms to be filled out and signed prior to our first session, which I’ll share with you via email. When we meet, I’ll ask you questions about yourself to develop a more thorough understanding of your presenting concerns, life experiences and clinical needs. We’ll also establish collaborative goals for your therapy to ensure we share a clear focus for our upcoming sessions.

What types of clients do you typically work with?

I specialize in supporting older teens (16+) and young adults (18-35) navigating the transition to adulthood.

I’m currently available for telehealth sessions with clients located in Maryland or Colorado.

I'm in network with CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Colorado, Aetna, Cigna, Kaiser Permanente of the Mid Atlantic and Optum/United Healthcare.

Cancellation Policy

I have a 24-hour cancellation policy. If you are unable to keep your appointment for any reason, please provide at least 24 hours advance notice. Cancellations with less than 24-hours notice, “late cancels,” are subject to a $75 late cancel fee.

"No Show" Policy

Accepted Answer

Missed appointments or “no shows,” (not arriving for your appointment without any contact), and multiple “late cancels” within a two month time frame will be subject to the full session fee ($135) for the missed appointment.
